Museum pest management
Insect pests are responsible for substantial damage to museum objects, historic books and buildings. Different insect species infest different materials. Some common pests are found in collections in Europe, but most of them are distributed all over the world. AgroSpeCom uses the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach in museums, identifying the most vulnerable collections, applying preventive measures and monitoring. An additional part of the IPM strategy, is training the museum staff on the main pest challenges.
On top of that, AgroSpeCom offers treatment of museum objects in our two fumigation terminals in Greece, plus on-site-treatments with the use of low oxygen bubbles. AgroSpeCom has designed mini fumigation chambers for several museums in Greece. More information on Museum pest management can be found here.
